Cool Homes: Princess Margaret Sweepstakes

I know I have been MIA for a bit, but I was helping out my boyfriend on his recent home renovation project, which is finally done! Of course there will be before and after pictures on the blog next week, so make sure to come back.

In the meantime, I had the pleasure of attending the sneak peek of the Princess Margaret Welcome Home Sweepstakes last week, thanks to my lovely friend, Renee. I know I'm probably the last person to blog about this and I'm sure by now you've probably already seen pictures, but just in case you didn't, now is your chance.

At first I thought Oakville, no thanks, I'm so not a suburban chic, but after seeing this home, I may be contemplating a move in the near future. The home was built from ground up and designed and decorated by Lynda Reeves and the House and Home magazine design team, frankly it's 6,500 sq ft of gorgeousness and reminiscent of a farmhouse gone modern, totally up my alley! So here's a sneak peek, but I highly recommend taking a tour yourself and of course buying a ticket for this great cause.

Obsessing over this family room, I want those wood shelves

Loving this cabinet in the kitchen!

I wanted to throw myself on this bed when I saw it

My dream closet

If I had this laundry room, I would do laundry all day and night!!!

I have a  lot more pictures of this beautiful home, but remember this is a sneak preview so you should really go check out this home in person and buy a ticket for cancer research, what I will say is home gym and removable glass wall, yes please....

Oh and the best part of the night besides seeing this beautiful home, meeting some cool bloggers, drinking Preseco and eating yummy treats, I actually won the raffle for the 47" 3D Smart TV, courtesy of LG Canada. Thanks again to Princess Margaret, LG Canada, House and Home and Renee who I literally rubbed (on her arm of course) for good luck, for this awesome TV!

For more information about this home and to buy your ticket, just click here and do your part to help conquer cancer.

Cool Homes: In 500 Sq Ft

Do you think you can cram all your belongings into 500 square feet and still make it look stylish and organized? I didn't think it was really possible until I saw Renee's Parkdale apartment located in Toronto. It is filled with tons of eye candy goodness and I can't believe how everything fits perfectly and has a home. Renee's apartment has an industrial/vintage feel and filled with tons of amazing DIY's, which by the way you can catch on Renee's blog Recreative Works. It had me drooling at first sight and how cute is her fur baby Harper?

Take a look....

What do you think? Are you in love just as much as I am?

If you have a cool space or uniquely decorated place you would like me to feature, make sure to contact me!

More Development News....

It's September which means back to school for some and back to work for others (I'm in the others category), so let's get down to business. There are 2 developments going down in the Junction Triangle, which is a very, as they say, "up and coming neighbourhood". But seriously it is, young couples are giving up their right arms and paying some hefty price tags to score houses in this area, so it's not surprising developers are seeing opportunity here too.

First up is the Wallace Walk development....

Here is a picture of the site currently

A collection of Urban townhomes in the heart of the Junction Triangle and close to Dundas W subway and the Toronto Rail path. These townhomes will be located on Wallace Ave where the street dead ends and across the street from the Wallace Station Lofts. The townhouses will back onto beautifully landscaped walkways giving owners lots of pretty things to look at. This development is by Torbel Groups and will feature 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms starting at $209,900. The townhomes will range from 525 sq ft all the way up to 1,460 sq ft. To get on the list for pre registration, make sure to contact me.

Here's a rendering of what the completed project will look like...

Development Proposal at 243 Perth Ave (on the corner of Perth & Wallace)

Here is what the site currently looks like

Currently this project is in the proposal stage as it still needs approval for rezoning and actual approval of the project itself. It's very common these days in Toronto to see churches converted into lofts/condos and this is no exception. The concept is quite interesting, there will be 22 residential units inside the church and a new 4 storey building with 12 residential units in the existing surface parking lot. There will also be 20 parking spots provided under the new building. I think if this does actually get approved, it will be pretty cool and a great addition to the neighbourhood. I will keep you posted on any further developments.

Here is a rendering of what the completed project will look like

To stay on top of these developments and any others happening in the Junction Triangle, make sure to check back here or better yet, subscribe, I know you're dying too!
